Dangan Ronpa is a game centering around an abandoned school 15 students were kidnapped to. Each and every one of them possesses a skill they are particularly good at, as per school entrance policy. It can be skill with computers, it can be good luck. Kirigiri stands out due to the fact that her ability is not common knowledge. Each of those students is faced with either the prospect of living their entire life in the school, or murdering another student. If they succeed in the latter without being found out in the following trial, then everyone else is killed, and they are freed. While all students claim they are above killing at first, it isn't long until cracks begin to appear in their morality.

Personality: (Massive spoilers for Dangan Ronpa within the fourth paragraph) The first impression of Kirigiri is that she is invariably a cold person. No matter the situation, she always keeps herself calm, unwilling to show even the slightest hint of emotion. She admits that this is nothing but a mask, and that extreme circumstances do instill fear into her, but they are never enough to do away with her judgment, serving only to encourage it. Despite this, she does not forbid herself from speaking to her would-be murderer with complete civility. This is presumably just an effect of his being in power, seeing as she actually speaks with a small amount of derision to fellow students who have murdered, or purposefully altered the crime scene.

Kirigiri is quite intelligent. She will often be the first (and with unsettling frequency, the only one) to figure out crucial details of cases, and will link them in such a way that even the most unconventional of murders are brought to light. She will attempt tactics, old-fashioned or otherwise, to uncover evidence, trick suspects into slipping up, and examine every single piece of evidence (even the corpse of a victim, with absolutely no qualms about analyzing it fully). Despite all of this, she will often neglect to bring things to finalization, leaving the finger-pointing to people she believes have a bigger right to it. She will not, however, take well to things not going according to plan, and while always remaining completely calm, won’t hesitate to use force where no other recourse is available.

Despite being able to talk her fair share of philosophy, Kirigiri actively avoids talking about anything but the business at hand, claiming that small talk serves no purpose. She recognizes that personal information on a person would be quite useful for any would-be killer, so she refuses to even give so much as her field of specialty.

Kirigiri’s attitude and tendency to wander off at times eventually earns her the distrust of her classmates, yet it is confirmed late in the game that she is simply looking for evidence regarding her father, who was disposed of by Monobear. She is completely unwilling to divulge this fact to others, but it proves to be the silver lining in being kidnapped into Monobear’s little project, what with being able to search for him.

Abilities: No powers, but an exceedingly good attention to detail and high intellect make her a very skilled investigator. She also implies at being skilled in self-defense.
